The Hanoi School of Public Health (HSPH) invites you to participate in a training workshop on “Logistic Regression and Measurement Quality". Sunday, 21st – Tuesday, 23rd December, 2008 at the Hanoi School of Public Health.
Eligible Participants are all public health and social sciences researchers who already obtained a master degree are encouraged to apply. The priority will be given for researchers who are return fellows of the HRDI program, faculty from University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMP) in Ho Chi Minh city, and Hanoi School of Public Health (HSPH).

EMWG's meeting on research methodology: land conflicts and land policies for ethnic minorities in Vietnam
EMWG calls a meeting to consult with other individuals and organizations on these ideas, methodologies, analysis and focuses on a study on land isues in ethnic minority areas.
The meeting will be organized on 27 Thursday, November 2008 from 13.30 to 17.00 at the NGO Resource Centre F1 Building, La Thanh Hotel, No 218 Doi Can Street. Please see the invitation letter in attached file both Vietnamese and English version for your further information.

Sharing Workshop on Microfinance Against Poverty for Rural Poor Women
RDSC's experience in the last decade in various provinces shows that despite the fact that in
Vietnam rural areas, there are a number of credit sources available, women, especially the poor ones, continue expressing their demand for the services of micro-finance institutions that they control. To review the experience in micro-finance in the last ten years, in 12-13 July 2007, RDSC organises a two-day workshop and invites interested develoment professionals to join this gathering in Thanh Thuy District, Phu Tho Province.

State Department Small Grant Competition
The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the Democracy Small Grants Program for fiscal year 2008.

The purpose of the program is to assist countries around the world to strengthen democracy, human rights, civil society, and rule of law, and to combat extremism in their countries by making grants of up to $20,000 to local non-governmental and not-for-profit organizations.

Proposals must support program activities that promote democratic practices, including civil society; freedom of information and independent media; transparency in government; NGO capacity building; rule of law and judicial reform; civic education; conflict resolution; human rights; ethnic, minority and women's rights.

Please see below the application form for the 2008 Democracy Small Grants Program. Please send your proposals to the U.S. Embassy, Public Affairs Section at #7 Lang Ha Street, Hanoi by 17:00 pm, June 27, 2008. Final selections will be announced by August 25, 2008.
