| This monthly report is produced when the project is going to its end; there are three months left until the closure of the first phase. The project team continued the project plan as expected. In Vietnam, the country is hit by a very high rate of inflation that increases all costs of living and contruction materials. Food supply in the country appears to be a serious problem for all, especially the poor, as the rice price is increasing world-wide and it is rocketing in April. | |

Tentatively, in Oct 2006, NGO Forum on the ADB is organising a training "Basic Orientation-Workshop on ADB Operations" in Hanoi. The training aims at 1) Providing basic understanding on International Financial Institutions (IFIs), Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), the bilateral banks, and other donor-agencies operating in the international finance; 2) Providing basic understanding on ADB’s general structure and operations; 3) Providing an overview on ADB’s involvement in Viet Nam though the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) program; and 4) Providing understanding on ADB’s Accountability Mechanism, its processes and some related policies; and 5) acquiring basic skills and knowledge on ADB lobbying.
